I’m so excited about Instagram for Business! I’ve been so jealous of accounts that had switched over the past weeks as Instagram started slowly introducing the feature in other countries and I can finally say we can now switch our personal accounts into business accounts in South Africa. Now, I know sometimes we don’t like change, but trust me if you are a business owner, blogger or a freelancer, you are going to thank Instagram for this.
After Instagram realized how many brands and entrepreneurs were using Instagram, they saw the need to offer features that would help market your business, communicate with your clients and help find you new clients.
To Switch to a Business Profile
Once you have switched to a business account, Instagram allows your clients to be able to call, text, email or get directions by just tapping the contact button
If you are familiar with Facebook impressions or insights, this is a similar feature. Instagram will now track every single post for you and report back on impressions, reach & engagement. This will assist knowing what you audience likes, allowing you to create content that will drive better engagement & success post actions.
Promote Your Posts
If you already using Facebook Ads, the same account is used for Instagram Ads. You get to choose what type of action do you want people to take when they see your ad, visit your website or call your business. You then choose a call to action button, which you can personalize with your own text. It also allows you to choose your ad budget, which shows the audience you will reach and how many days your add will run.
One of the many reasons I have loved using Facebook for my business was because of how easily I reached a large audience, especially for my blog posts, due to boosting posts. Now that Instagram has introduced all these features, I’m really keen to see how they will improve my blog views and also gain new clients. This also means I need to now sit down and create an Instagram strategy that will work along with these features so I know I’m not missing out on any opportunities.
Aren’t you happy Facebook took over Instagram? They’ve been rolling out really awesome updates, especially for us who run businesses online!
