Staying inspired as a creative has to be one of the hardest things to do. With so much content, that I need to produce for my social media platforms, for my blog and more especially my clients. I spend most of my time online where I get to interact with other creatives and also be inspired by the work they do. Besides your daily surroundings gaining creative inspiration online has to be one of the greatest things to ever come out of the internet, because not only do you learn a lot but you also get to reinvent your craft.
These platforms have been my favorite for years now and I have not only been a part of their community but I also interact and share my own content consistently, which has really helped with the build up to my business and where I want it to be.
Bloglovin has to be one of the first things I check on a daily. Here I get to follow all of my favorite blogs, especially international blogs. Bloglovin has made it so easy for me to stay up to date on blog posts. I love and enjoy so many blogs that it would be so hard to check them one by one and to keep up with new blog posts. It’s also a great platform to discover and come across interesting blogs and posts. I’ve also recently added my blog so people can find it and be able to stay updated, so do follow.
If you are any type of creative you have to be on Tumblr! A lot of people don’t really know what Tumblr is or how it works, but its actually the easiest blogging platforms one can run. There’s literally everything and anything on Tumblr and I use it to be exposed to a lot of fashion and lifestyle images. Plus there are a lot of cool local blogs that I follow and keep up to date with. Also to see my blog with perfect looking pictures makes me all happy inside, which is awesome because it allows you to create that type of platform using content that does not even belong to you.
If you are not on Pinterest you are not serious about life. I’m obsessed with this platform, more then any platform actually. Pinterest allows you to have boards where you pin anything and everything, basically an online mood board if you may call it. I don’t think there’s anything that you cannot find on there. Pinterest is my go to for finding anything! I enjoy it because not only do I get to find cool ideas for my business, but for my day to day life. I have pins on how I want my kitchen to look like, down to ideas of my next hairstyle. Because of the blog and my business, I find myself pinning ideas for blog posts, increasing my knowledge about my industry and pinning a lot of work done by other creatives, that usually help with the work I do for my clients.
Instagram needs no introduction, I love Instagram and I probably spend too much time on there! Instagram allows us to be a part of people’s daily lives and see really awesome fashion and lifestyle pictures. I’m also very picky with who I follow on Instagram, because I really believe that it’s a visual platform and I would like to see perfectly selected images and unique content on my news feed. Especially since I also try to give my followers content they will enjoy and love seeing. Although I follow a lot of international accounts, I really enjoy following local accounts, because we have really cool people from South Africa who give us amazing curated feeds now.
Do share with me other platforms you enjoy that I didn’t mention above, always keen to learn about all the cool stuff online
